The Dutch Data Protection Authority (DPA) has urged the government to stop using Facebook pages due to privacy concerns. The Dutch Minister for Digitalization stated that if clarity on these risks is not provided soon, the government will be forced to discontinue its use of Facebook. The DPA warned the Dutch Interior Ministry about the privacy risks associated with the platform and advised against relying on it for communication with citizens. The Ministry had sought guidance on using Facebook in compliance with regulations. The government is demanding clear explanations from Meta to address their concerns or it will halt its Facebook activities. Meta disagrees with the DPA’s assessment.
